Law Journals: Source Pulling and Cite-Checking Resources for Staff Members

If in the law school . . .

  • If it's on our shelves, go ahead and hit the 'Request Pick-up" button in the record and we will grab it for you!
    • Note: Once the library is open again, you'll just be able to grab what you need yourself!  For this year, we will get a request when you follow the instructions below and then we'll email you when it's ready for you to check out.
  • Go ahead and scan anything you need scanned- but don't forget to check for an e-book version on Clio (if not listed on Pegasus) just in case you can save yourself some time.
  • If location is listed as "offsite", email us.  Please note a few things:
    • If it lists "Clancy" as the site, try to get it from Borrow Direct or one of the other CU libraries on Clio first (if they have it) as it is quite expensive to retrieve!  If you can't find it from another library, reach out to us and we'll request it for you.
    • If it lists "Recap", just email us directly and we'll put in the request for you.
  • We'll update this as needed as library access changes for the renovation!

If in another CU Library . . .

  • If available, click "Pick-Up"- you will then be taken to an online form and you will be emailed once your item is available at Butler Circulation for pick-up.  Clio also links to other libraries (such as NYPL) that can also be requested the same way.
  • If just need a small portion, click "Scan" and submit your request letting the staff know what you need.  You'll then be emailed the requested material once available
    • Only request one chapter at a time for copyright reasons.
  • Please note:  Make sure to monitor your account on Clio.  You can renew books as needed but if you end up overdue, the fines can get hefty and there isn't much we can do to get them waived.
