Beginning August 2, 2021, seat reservations are no longer required for the Columbia Law Library.
The Law Library is still restricted to current Columbia Law affiliates, including those participating in the Visiting Scholars Program.
Access to the Law Library for current Columbia University affiliates will begin September 9, 2021.
Students using the Law Library must have the Columbia University daily COVID-19 attestation completed to get into Jerome Greene Hall, a seat reservation and confirmation code, and abide by all health and safety policies while in the Law Library (including proper distancing and mask usage). Seats are available on the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor of the Law Library depending on your needs.
Seats on the 2nd floor are for Computer Lab access and quiet study.
Seats on the 3rd floor are for general use including online classes, interviews, and studying.
Please note, masks with vents are prohibited in the Library.
The Columbia Law Library stacks are closed and off-limits to onsite users. Due to agreements with databases for access to digital materials during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Columbia Law Library stacks are unavailable to patrons until further notice.
Desk delivery of material has ceased, if you need material from the Law Library stacks, please submit a scan request from the relevant Pegasus page.
Beginning August 14, 2021, the Law Library's scanning service will cease. The Law Library will reopen fully to current Columbia Law affiliates, allowing self retrieval from the stacks and onsite scanning.
Due to face coverings being required at all times, eating and drinking is prohibited within the Law Library. Do not push yourself-- take breaks for food and water, and feel free to come and go from the Law Library throughout your reservation. Bottle filling stations are located on the 3rd floor outside of the Law Library.
