The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement ("USMCA") is a free trade agreement between the three countries that substituted the North America Free Trade Agreement ("NAFTA"). It was a result of renegotiations between NAFTA member states and came into effect on July 1 2020.

The NAFTA was a free trade agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico that sought to boost trade, eliminate barriers and reduce tariffs on imports and exports between the three nation states. It remained in force until the USMCA took effect on July 1 2020.
